The Fall Festival in Pahrump was great. You never know what your going to see around these parts.
Here is the guy with the pet goat. I've yet to actually meet him but, he can be seen hanging out with his pet goat all over town:
That was one big snake.....
Here is the Grand Champion Winning pumpkin forthe 4-H club.
Here is Betty and Tom shopping for something or other
There were lots of good things to eat....none of them good for you....but hey it a festival!
These are spiral cut potatos. More or less one long potato chip. We ate at the Ozark BBQ pit. And of course you can't go to a festival and not get a funnel cake. They go really well with beer....lol
There are lots of fun things to do there also
and some not so fun things also....
Then we went to the rodeo!!! Needless to say night photography at a rodeo is...well...difficult, at best.
Betty and Tom watching the rodeo.
Some young wranglers watching the action.
This is the barel race. I think I enjoyed this one the most because it really shows the agility of the horses.
The crowd
Karen at the rodeo.
We had a great time. It runs through Sunday so we may go back tonight. If we do I'll have to bring "big daddy" with me for the rodeo.

Yesterday
we went to see the Pony Express. We also went to the Western Festival for a short time.
Nye county has a zero tolerance policy towards illicit drugs. Apparently these people didn't getthe message....lol
I had wanted to go see the pony express early in the morning so I would have better backdrops and better lighting, but I had to work so this is what you get...lol.
Another photographer taking pictures along the trail:
Although it seems out of place here is a plover I saw:
Not sure if it is a Kildeer or some other kind of plover though. I could look it up but I'm being lazy right now.
Check out the 4 sale sign!
A man and his donkey....it's a beautiful thing!
To say that this horse was high spirited would be an understatement....
Cash for Clunkers anyone???
Posing for the camera:
We didn't get to spend a lot of time at the festival, but here is a peek at it.
