Here are some pics from going over the "hump" the other day to and from work.
On the way home:
On the rare days that we have clouds here, they make for some spectacular sunsets!

Building 160 Store
It is not much of a name, but it is full of STUFF. If you ever need some extra STUFF, this is the place to go!
None of us really needed anymore STUFF, but we were worried that one day we might wake up and realize that we didn't have enough STUFF. What would the neighbors think??? So we went and bought some more STUFF.
They have all kinds of STUFF here. Good STUFF:
Interesting STUFF:
STUFF you may have never realized you needed living in the middle of a desert:
And STUFF you can't believe they are selling:
Here are some more photos of random STUFF:
Here is Karen, Nana, Papa and Nancy trying to figure out how much STUFF we can fit in our car:
Its like that Thanksgiving song "Alice's Restaurant"....You can get anything you want at Building 160 Store.....

We had a great time
at the Brothels in Crystal Nevada!
While not technically a brothel, we started at the Short Branch Saloon.
Here are some of the locals we met. The lived in Pahrump but felt Pahrump was getting too crowded when they put up a second stop light, so they moved to Crystal!
The current administration is not very popular out here:
Then we went to the Cherry Patch Ranch. Mia was a bit dissapointed that it was being remodeled.
Belly up at the bar. Brian asked for cheap whiskey in a dirty glass....lol
The ever so nice bar maid Sissy. She was great fun.
Here is Brian checking out the "menu" from some of the brothels in town.
Some of the political cartoons on the wall. They have been fighting about prostitution out here since .....well, for a long time!
A business licsense for the brothel.
This poor soul was discovered in one of the wals of a brothel during a renovation.
As seen below, both of her hands have been cut off to prevent identification I suppose.
This is Road Dog. He was found by one ofthe locals here sitting in the median of the road on his hind legs, front legs up in the air as if he was begging for a ride.
Here is Mia holding her copy of the brothel bible.
We had a great time out there. One local advised us to skip the Brothel Museum, another advised us to "go see it". We were glad we went to see it.
Just remember that they are "brothels", not "whore houses" becuase whores don't get paid! Or so they told us!

YEEEEE HAAAAWWWW!!!
The Fall Festival in Pahrump was great. You never know what your going to see around these parts.
Here is the guy with the pet goat. I've yet to actually meet him but, he can be seen hanging out with his pet goat all over town:
That was one big snake.....
Here is the Grand Champion Winning pumpkin forthe 4-H club.
Here is Betty and Tom shopping for something or other
There were lots of good things to eat....none of them good for you....but hey it a festival!
These are spiral cut potatos. More or less one long potato chip. We ate at the Ozark BBQ pit. And of course you can't go to a festival and not get a funnel cake. They go really well with beer....lol
There are lots of fun things to do there also
and some not so fun things also....
Then we went to the rodeo!!! Needless to say night photography at a rodeo is...well...difficult, at best.
Betty and Tom watching the rodeo.
Some young wranglers watching the action.
This is the barel race. I think I enjoyed this one the most because it really shows the agility of the horses.
The crowd
Karen at the rodeo.
We had a great time. It runs through Sunday so we may go back tonight. If we do I'll have to bring "big daddy" with me for the rodeo.
